Skiing and Splitboarding in Salt Lake City

USABackcountry Skiing / SplitboardingSki Mountaineering

The central Wasatch mountains host some of the best backcountry skiing and splitboarding, hence why Utah and Salt Lake City has earned its reputation as “The Greatest Snow on Earth.” Skiers and splitboarders across a wide range of abilities love what the Wasatch has to offer: from big open-face turns on classic lines like the South Face of Superior, to steep couloir skiing in areas such as Hogum Fork and around the Pfeifferhorn, as well as creative bi-canyon tours linking Little and Big Cottonwood Canyon.

The Wasatch offers a reliable intermountain snowpack and incredibly short access from town and lodging to trailheads and ski areas. You can expect beautiful alpine bowls, tree skiing at mid elevations, and rewarding days navigating classic Wasatch terrain.
