IFMGA Mountain Guide Joseph Hobby has over a decade of experience guiding, climbing, and skiing in the Alaska Range. This expedition takes you deep into the Alaska Range in the shadow of Denali (North America’s highest mountain). We will access the glacier by ski-plane to set up our remote base camp and feast on endless options for ski mountaineering in every direction.
Denali is ideal for confident backcountry skiers looking for a true expedition-style experience, where vast glaciated terrain, massive elevation relief, and long ski tours are the norm. Expect broad snowfields, steep alpine faces, crevassed glaciers, and very cold, high-latitude snowpack. These trips are customizable and can include the rare chance to ski untouched lines in an environment that still feels wild and unexplored.
Wild Paths Guiding provides all group gear including tents for cooking and sleeping along with food and cooking. Guests are required to bring their own sleeping kits and ski or splitboard gear. An equipment list will further detail everything upon booking.

Wild Paths Guiding Difficulty Scale
Novice:
these are good options for guests with limited previous climbing or backcountry ski experience. Most of these routes are either shorter day outings, or longer, but technically easier climbs and ski tours. These may require glacier travel, steep snow, rock, or ice that require belays or rappels. Overall, not that difficult, but basic ski ability, mountaineering skills, cramponing, and/or rope experience are preferred pertaining to the activity.
Intermediate:
we are now entering our technical category with occasional belaying, steeper skiing, rappeling, and/or climbing in steep terrain. These routes are longer, requiring most of the day to climb. Though, if shorter, more technical difficulties will be involved. They require climbers and skiers to be experienced, and if so, this will be a great option to start with.
Advanced:
these objectives are hard and require a proven experience in technical terrain and abilities. They can be quite long with continuous exposure and challenge. Not a good choice for beginners and even an experienced climber or skier will be put to the test.
Elite:
the hardest of the categories and reserved only for the very skilled climber and skier. A mountain athlete needs to be in tip top form and able to move quickly and confidently on the ascent or descent, in exposed and difficult terrain. Retreat from these routes is usually quite difficult.

AGREEMENT TO TERMS

You agree that by accessing the Site, you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these Terms of Use. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE TERMS OF USE, THEN YOU ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED FROM USING THE SITE AND YOU MUST DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY.

- Your Contributions do not ridicule, mock, disparage, intimidate, or abuse anyone.
- Your Contributions are not used to harass or threaten (in the legal sense of those terms) any other person and to promote violence against a specific person or class of people.
- Your Contributions do not violate any applicable law, regulation, or rule.
- Your Contributions do not violate the privacy or publicity rights of any third party.
- Your Contributions do not violate any applicable law concerning child pornography, or otherwise intended to protect the health or well-being of minors.
- Your Contributions do not include any offensive comments that are connected to race, national origin, gender, sexual preference, or physical handicap.
- Your Contributions do not otherwise violate, or link to material that violates, any provision of these Terms of Use, or any applicable law or regulation.
Any use of the Site in violation of the foregoing violates these Terms of Use and may result in, among other things, termination or suspension of your rights to use the Site.
CONTRIBUTION LICENSE

GOVERNING LAW

DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Any legal action of whatever nature brought by either you or us (collectively, the “Parties” and individually, a “Party”) shall be commenced or prosecuted in the state and federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and the Parties hereby consent to, and waive all defenses of lack of personal jurisdiction and forum non conveniens with respect to venue and jurisdiction in such state and federal courts. Application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the Uniform Computer Information Transaction Act (UCITA) are excluded from these Terms of Use. In no event shall any claim, action, or proceeding brought by either Party related in any way to the Site be commenced more than one (1) years after the cause of action arose.

INDEMNIFICATION

USER DATA

CALIFORNIA USERS AND RESIDENTS

RESERVATION, CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Reservation, Cancellation, and Refund Policy Reservation Information: Payment in full is due at booking in order to confirm your reservation for all private trips booked through Wild Paths Guiding, Payments may be made via Paypal check or wire to Wild Paths Guiding. Courses are all designed with a minimum and a maximum number of participants. In the event of low registration, we prefer to give you the option to pay a surcharge that will cover the costs of a smaller group. Cancellation Policy: Private guiding including Rock Climbing, Ice Climbing, Backcountry Skiing, Mountaineering. Trips all have a 10 days cancellation policy. Please Note NO REFUNDS for cancellations, in part or full, within 10 days of the scheduled trip date. Trips canceled within these cancellation periods will be charged the full amount. If you cancel your trip before the cancellation deadline then we will refund your deposit less than 15% to cover booking cost. Unfortunately, due to the time-sensitive nature of the guiding business and our commitment to our guides, we cannot make exceptions to these policies. Group trips including avalanche, mountaineering, and medical courses are nonrefundable after participant registration. If a course is canceled due to low enrollment we will notify you as soon as possible and a full refund will be given. If this situation arises, Wild Paths Guiding is not responsible for any other expenses incurred in preparing for the course (Travel expenses, equipment rentals or purchase, or lodging). Weather and Unforeseen Environmental Circumstances: we reserve the right to cancel reservations due to environmental or other unforeseen circumstances. Wild Paths Guiding is not responsible for delays or cancellations due to weather conditions, trail conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. We will make every effort to reschedule or offer advanced notice of route changes if and when possible. There will be no refunds for trips already in progress and trips will be charged according to the above cancellation policy. For longer trips, peak climbs, and ski mountaineering, unforeseen conditions including weather can affect field conditions and subsequently client safety. We reserve the right to turn around, change, or modify all trips at any time without refund or credit. Participants for all trips are responsible for evacuation costs if necessary including additional trailhead shuttles, ambulance, and emergency services. Trip Insurance: We strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance to secure your trip.
