Hyalite Canyon is one of the premier ice climbing venues in the US. With over 250 routes of varying difficulty, there’s something in Hyalite for everyone from Wi3/4 classics to hard drytooling. Most climbs are accessed by moderate approaches out of the Grotto Falls TH. Though adventurous days with longer approaches and solitude are also ample via ski touring approaches or by foot, in the Grotto and East Fork areas. I offer instruction in this area in partnership with the Montana Mountaineering Association.
