The Haute Route ski tour is the most famous ski tour in the Alps. It's a 'must do' for any backcountry ski enthusiast! Famed as a legendary high alpine route linking two historic mountain towns; Chamonix in France and Zermatt in Switzerland, the total distance is around 120kms (~75 miles) and 6,000m (~20k ft) of ascent and descent. There are many, many ways to go about the Haute Route and each has it's own unique flavor. I prefer to get off the 'beaten path' and offer my guests a customizable adventure. This includes an extra day in Chamonix to shake off the jetlag then off we go on day two. Taking advantage of shuttles to highlight the downhill potential in each area. Adding extra days in some of these special locations with incredible lodging experiences. And even the use of helicopter assistance, if so desired. All the while, still maintaining the general course of the traditional Haute Route. Contact me if interested and we can discuss what Haute Route is preferred by you!
